The Dead Lands 2018 Movie – Storyline :
After his tribe is slaughtered through an act of treachery, Hongi, a Maori chieftain’s teenage son, must avenge his father’s murder in order to bring peace and honor to the souls of his loved ones. Vastly outnumbered by a band of villains, Hongi’s only hope is to pass through the feared and forbidden Dead Lands and forge an uneasy alliance with the mysterious Warrior, a ruthless fighter who has ruled the area for years.
Review of The Dead Lands (Hindi Dubbed) 2014 – Movies:
“The Dead Lands” is interesting because it is completelyin the Te Reo language…the tongue of the ancient Maori people. I decided to watch the film because I really enjoyed my trips to New Zealand and wanted to learn more about their culture.
When the story begins, Wirepa and some other warriors from a neighboring tribe pretend that they have come to visit the site of a battle which occurred long ago….in order to pay their respects to the dead. However, this is just a pretext…an excuse to create an incident which will justify war. Soon, the evil tribe wipes out most of the other tribe…though the Chief’s teenage son, Hongi, manages to escape. Now, he seeks help from people in ‘the Land of the Dead’….and hopefully they can right this wrong. And, considering Wirepa is without honor and cares nothing for this Land of the Dead, you know he’s really tempting fate…and the wrath of ‘the monster’.
“The Dead Lands” plays much less like a traditional movie and much more like a Maori legend or saga come to life. At times, the dead even come to talk to Hongi, our young hero…something you certainly wouldn’t see in a Hollywood picture! It is clearly a labor of love and shows great respect for the culture and heritage.
