This film leaves me doubtful. I don’t know what to think about it, I didn’t hate it but I came out … Osef. It’s better than racist comedies, of course, but hey. I have the impression that the film is getting lost, that it wants to make a “New Generation Beautiful Gosses” (It’s even on the poster) but at the same time make a pseudo social commentary. The film will be quickly forgettable, for me there are only 2 striking scenes, the one in the middle with the song and the one where the black guy reveals that he is gay. I find her acting in her video really touching and true. Speaking of acting, I find it really random, the girl is either over-playing or under-playing constantly, Ramzy, whom I really like and who for once tries a more serious role, often works but sometimes fails and the rest of the cast oscillate between good and bad and I find that there is only the mother of the hero who is really very good. There you have it, the film is random, sometimes it took me away and sometimes I wanted to die. Anyway, it’s hard to get involved in a story where everything is superficial.
