All in all an entertaining movie. I’m a huge fan of the books and was very curious about the movie adaption. I kept my expectations low, so I wasn’t disappointed, as many of the other fans seem to be The final scene after the credits, in which the kangaroo says that it doesn’t have to have the final word, is the exact copy of the same ending of the original book. Onthe last page of the book there is only one line, saying that the kangaroo doesn’t have to have the last word.

Comedy based on the radio comedy and the bestselling books and audio-books by Marc-Uwe Kling.

Die Känguru–Chroniken ist eine deutsche Filmkomödie von Dani Levy über die Figuren des Romans Die Känguru–Chroniken von Marc-Uwe Kling, der selbst das Drehbuch verfasste. Es handelt es sich um eine Kombination aus Realfilm und Computeranimation. Der Film kam am 5. März 2020 in die deutschen Kinos.

At the end of the movie a new house owner is interviewed, who is a penguin. It is a character who movies in at the end of the original book and also appears in the following books “Das Känguru-Manifest” (the kangaroo manifest) and “Die Känguru-Offenbarung” (The Kangaroo revelation). In these books the penguin and the kangaroo are fighting against each other.
