Chamberlain tellsĀ Conservative PartyĀ advisers that he wantsĀ Lord HalifaxĀ as his successor, but Halifax does not feel the time is right. ChamberlainĀ is forced to chooseĀ the only man whom the opposition parties will accept:Ā Winston Churchill, theĀ First Lord of the Admiralty, who had correctly predicted the danger fromĀ Adolf HitlerĀ before the war.
